Job Description:

The University of Namibia through the Centre for Innovation and Development under the Office of the PVC Research, Innovation and Development recently secured funding form the Finnish Embassy to conduct a research on the optimisation of the production of animal feed pellets from encroacher bush species. This project will be executed through the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resource’s Neudamm Campus. The Centre for Innovation and Development is hence looking for a qualified animal nutritionist scientist to conduct the aforementioned research. The candidate will be required to impact his/her knowledge on animal feed and bush encroachment on the students, lecture as well as direct and coordinate the research and project activities (e.g. workshops, pilot activities etc.). Furthermore, the candidate shall be required to assist with lecturing of animal food nutrition modules under the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources.


A Master of Science in Animal Nutrition and degree in Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology with a track record of research in animal nutrition; academic and/or teaching and community engagement. Furthermore; a strong focus on innovation in animal nutrition and ability to teach food nutrition modules with at least three (3) years experience; at least one (1) year relevant experience in animal nutrition and animal feed production including a sound understanding of the process of animal feed production from invader bush species and bush encroachment.
